Scheduling: The 2020 New England Appraisers Expo 4-Hour Residential Program will take place on December 15, 2020 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Attendance:
We are required to track each participants attendance which will be done through poll questions which will launch periodically during the program. We will not be able to award CE credit to participants who fail to answer all the poll questions.

The Practical Aspects of How Attorneys and Appraisers Interact - I

 
Appraisers have opportunities to work on a assignments other than for lenders, but their unfamiliarity with the expectations of attorneys and private assignments is a frequent stumbling block.
 
Eugene Nigro, an established probate and divorce attorney, will help demystify the process of appraisers working with attorneys in the engagement and completion of assignments. He will discuss when expert testimony may be required, provide a trial outline used for preparation, and describe the qualifications and experience attorneys look for when engaging an appraiser.

Feeling burned out with lender work?  Then attend this session and learn how to expand your licensed scope of practice to include other users of appraisal services seeking professional competency and expertise. Anthony N Federico, RA and Shaun Fitzgerald, RA will share their experiences involving various types of attorney engagements and provide practical advice for you to incorporate into your appraisal practice. Topics addressed in this session will be preliminary discussions, problem identification, formal engagement of service, assignment conditions and elements and how they affect the scope of work, applying ethical conduct obligations, avoiding advocacy risk, effective reporting, attorney consultation and preparation for expert witness testimony if called upon and more.
