Required Textbooks You Must Purchase:
The MBREA does not provide the required textbooks for the class. You must order them directly from the Appraisal Foundation. You are required to have, and must purchase directly from the Appraisal Foundation’s store, (https://appraisalfoundation.org/imis/TAF/Store/TAF/Products.aspx?hkey=73d01054-6418-4dff-86c3-f08e92a04e4c) the following textbooks:
- The 2024 USPAP Publication: This document is the core of the course, containing the updated standards.
- The 2024 USPAP Guidance and Reference Manual: This comprehensive manual includes Advisory Opinions, Frequently Asked Questions, and a Reference Index, providing additional context and clarification.
- The 2024-2025 Student Manual: This manual is specifically tailored to support your learning throughout the course.
These books are available in either print or digital (PDF) versions (digital versions have the letter “E” in the title). According to the Foundation, print books are shipped within 48 hours of ordering and may take up to 10 days for delivery. Digital versions can be downloaded immediately after ordering. Please be careful to order the proper year (2024-2025) and version you wish to purchase. We will verify you have the required textbooks so make sure you obtain receipts for the digital books.
Pro Tip: For those opting for digital versions, it is recommended to print pages 2 to 56 from the Student Manual. This will facilitate navigation during the course as all three books will be utilized.
Live-Streaming Class Requirements: To successfully participate in the course and receive credit, you need to meet the following technical requirements:
- Computer with Camera, Microphone, and Speakers: Your computer must have a functioning camera, microphone, and speakers. The camera must be turned on during instructional time, and you should be able to hear and interact with the instructor and fellow students.
- Class Schedule: The course spans two mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and attendance for the full duration of both sessions is mandatory to receive credit.
- Zoom Familiarity: If you are not already familiar with Zoom, we highly recommend conducting a test of your equipment at zoom.us/test. Zoom offers comprehensive support articles to assist you in resolving any technical issues you may encounter during the live-streaming classes.
