Important Notice Concerning Virtual Classes:
MBREA’s live streaming seminars are interactive and to participate and receive continuing education credit students must have a computer or device with a camera and audio that allows the instructor to physically see and interact with all students in the class.
Please email a copy of your driver’s license to the MBREA office (
staff@mbrea.org) prior to the start of the class as we are required to verify students’ identity.
Attendance will be taken at various times during the class.

The class will be conducted using Zoom. Please note the following:

  • A link will be sent to you prior to the class in a separate email. The link is unique and should not be shared.
  • You do not need to have a paid Zoom account. We do recommend that if you have not previously Zoomed, you go to https://zoom.us/ to download their app, and test your camera and audio connections.

Class dates:  April 13, 14 & 20, 2021 – Remote Learning Via Zoom (Attendance all three days is required.)

Credit info: This class has been approved by MA, ME (AQB approved) NH & RI for 18 continuing and 20 hours of qualifying education elective credit. CT approved this course for 20 hours of primary education credit only. MBREA is a secondary provider for Hondros Learning.

This course will raise the level of awareness of the scope of work involved with assignments other than the everyday single-family residential appraisal. Property types discussed include: mixed-use, unusual, income-producing and one-of-a-kind

Learning Objectives include:
  • To better understand how an assignment can become complex and considerations of appraiser competency
  • Recognizing when an assignment is complex and how to proceed in the appraisal process
  • Learning how to apply accepted methodology and techniques in a nontraditional manner for unique and complex properties
  • Creating awareness of how data collection and analysis requires specialized knowledge of specific and general data
  • Understanding how unique and complex properties require the application of appropriate non-traditional valuation methods and techniques
  • Mastering how good logic and judgment are required in thinking through the rationale during the analysis process
